Coveside Bed & Breakfast is an upscale, waterfront B&B in mid-coast Maine. The 2024 season runs through October 19, 2024. Reservations for the 2025 season will open sometime after the start of 2025. Coveside Bed & Breakfast is set on a rocky cove, near the village of Five Islands in Georgetown, Maine. Every guest room has an excellent view of the working lobster dock across our cove, and beyond to Sheepscot Bay. In addition to lobster boats, neighbors on the cove include gulls, heron, osprey, and eagles. We strive to be environmentally friendly in all aspects of our operation and have been designated an “Environmental Leader” by the State of Maine, and recognized as a “Green Leader” by TripAdvisor. Our location is secluded and serene, yet the attractions of Boothbay Harbor, Freeport, Camden, Portland, and the bustle of Maine’s coastal highway, Route 1, are within easy reach.
There are a variety of activities to fill your days. After a memorable breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the bay, you might launch your kayak from our dock to explore the miles of coves, islands, and waterways in our area; or walk the stunning beaches, headlands, and woodland trails at nearby Reid State Park, or one of the dozen other hiking trails on the island. We provide bicycles for our guests to wander the uncrowded byways of Georgetown. Five kayaks (4 singles and 1 tandem) are also available for guest use, perhaps to paddle to the Five Islands wharf for a lobster roll or shore dinner. Venture further afield for the shopping, dining, or cultural attractions in the mid-coast area. Back at Coveside Bed & Breakfast, you can just pass the time away on our terrace, porches, hammock, or waterside chairs, reading and watching the lobster boats come and go. Televisions are available in the common room of each building (there are no television sets in guest rooms).
Since the summer of 1998, Coveside Bed & Breakfast has welcomed thousands of visitors to this quiet cove in mid-coast Maine. Bob Doucette purchased the B&B in 2019 following a career as an Association Management Executive with several large professional societies in Washington, D.C. A native of Maine, he grew up 30 miles from Georgetown and has many fond memories of day trips for lobster, the beach, and summer vacations on this special part of the Maine Coast.
