This map indicates the variety and range of Maine kayaking opportunities from Coveside Bed and Breakfast.

Maine Coast kayaking opportunities for those with all levels of experience are available. There are sheltered, short trips to Five Islands and its protected harbor or around nearby Turnip Island, or open-water adventures for the more experienced kayakers.

One of our favorite trips is the paddle around MacMahan Island. The hour-long adventure takes you down the Little Sheepscot River past docked sailboats and lobster boats to Goose Rock Passage, where paddlers follow the shoreline of MacMahan past a sandy beach to the rocky side of the island facing the Sheepscot.

Put in at our dock and explore a small bit of mid-coast Maine's seashore. If you don't have your own boat, you can arrange a rental kayak to be delivered to Coveside through Seaspray Kayaking in Bath. Individual kayaks may be stored next to our dock for convenient entry and exit. Seaspray (and other area outfitters, such as H2O Outfitters in Harpswell) can also arrange guided kayak trips and lessons, either from our put-in or other area locations.
